Sub: [ALOCHONA] Politics: Not the business of GENTLEMAN?

Dear Alochoks,

"Politics is no more gentleman's business. It has become a massive tool for
gang leaders to accomplish their evil deeds" - A very common view of most of
the literate Bangladeshi.

Not the regional level, nor the national level, the elites are no where in
politics. If the literate faction do not involve with politics any more,
then how this country will expect a positive and dynamic change? If current
trend is going on, 90% of the parliament seats will be occupied by the gang
leaders by next 15-20 years.

Look at the students leaders of last 20 years. How many of them are leading
the country now? What is the percentage of their contribution to our
national politics? How many student leader we can see among 300 MPs? Whom we
find serving their original duty?

Then who is ruling the country?

This country is obviously running by the bureaucrats under the name of
democratically elected persons.

Because most of the political leaders are less qualified than the
bureaucrats. Bureaucrats are not decision making body, only execute the
decisions taken by the politicians who are elected by the people.

But the reality in Bangladesh is different. Here bureaucrats takes most of
the decision or influence the decision making process. As a result, people
dont see any significant change in any sector though several democratic or
non-democratic regime have passed in last 32 years after independence.

If we (the gentlemen) cant move away the gunman from the political field
now, bad news are waiting for this country. A day will come when these
street gunman will occupy the power and rule the country from first hand. It
can be in 20 years or it can be in 10 years.

After 20 years there will be no Hasina or no Khaleda. As per current trend
their family member will take the lead of party and I can imagine a worst
conflict between them ( much more worst than their moms currently do).

What we the gentlemans will do then? Watch and suffer? That's what we are
waiting for? I dont have any correct answer now.
