Subject: Re: [ALOCHONA] Ullash - An honest dictator?
Some truth lies there, whether we agree or not. Democracy is not suitable.
system for us at this moment. There is a long process to achieve a real
democratic system. At least 80% of people should have enough knowledge about
democracy. Democracy is the best policy for the nation that has that much
literate people who can decide how they will run their country. Democracy
doesn't have any theories like socialism or communism. The basics of a democratic
system is "to establish people's rights." People will decide how they want to
run the country, and accordingly, they will select their leaders by the
general election. Here education is plays a big role to select RIGHT person
as a leader.
But in Bangladesh, the majority of people still can't take any decisions by themselves.
Because they have to depend on other people, like the local leaders or
morols. In every party, there are people who are responsible for convincing
people in his locality at any cost, which will help him win the election.
Sometimes people are convinced by nice words (we treat them 100% fairly),
sometimes by money and sometimes by fear. A very small percentage of people
can vote for their candidate with real understanding. They are the educated
group.
It's true that educated people also don't have much better choices than
Hasina or Khaleda. Because we are passing a crisis time in our political
history when politics is ruled by family tradition. We don't have
dependable alternative yet. It will take time to overcome this tradition.
But education is really a vital factor in overcoming it.
We are talking about an honest dictator, because this is a nice dream.
love to see. To escape from this crucial reality, we must have a dream.
Our current democratic system is so nice that some of us prefer to see
a dictator as a country leader. I am sure many people want to see
Bangladesh will be politically free for at least 10 years. That will solve the minimum.
1/3 of our problem. Who can do that? An honest dictator.
But that is not a real solution. Only EDUCATION can change the things better.
Every government tried to improve the rate of education sincerely or
half-sincerely during the last three dacades. But still, the target is far away.
So, if the conscious and educated part of the people takes some initiative to
educate a few uneducated people (one can pick up three people) around them in
Every year, it may lead us to a great change within a short time. People
have more power than the government. We have to believe it positively.
